Additional info: OK, I mainly uploaded this discography as a request since I don't upload available-to-buy albums. Slick Shoes was a band from California who started around 1996. If you search on the internet there are millions of full biographies of them so I'll upload from time to time so unsorted FAQ about them.

- I heard they had a demo tape which I've never seen... supposedly they showed it to Tooth & Nail Records and they signed them up to record and release their first self titled EP.
- Slick Shoes might be considered the pioneers of that famous "Slick Shoes" style, even a lot of people say it was MxPx. The First MxPx album to sound "Slick Shoes-ish" (Life In General) was released in 1996, but at that time Slick Shoes already were composing their first EP songs and judging by how they sound, Slick Shoes went to a way more "tech/mature" sound.
- For the CD/Vinyl/Tape collectors, you can find everything on CD in just one press but the Self Titled LP and Far From Nowhere also exist in japanese press. You can find Rusty and Burn Out on tape too. On vinyl you can find the Self Titled EP in blue vinyl (7 inch) and I THINK that the only pressing of Rusty is in black vinyl, not sure if it was pressed in a different way.
- Songs that aren't from their CDs mmm... there are 3 songs in their split CD with Cooter (later re-released just to change the name Cooter to Autopilot Off), they recorded Candy (cover) for the Punk Goes Pop comp and they have 3 extra songs in their "best of" called "The Biggest And The Best". They have another random track called "Blackout" which I suppose is post-Far From Nowhere era (you can listen to it here). The song Once Again had a demo version many years ago too and they also had an exclusive track called "Anything Anything". I can't think of more right now.
- Their line up changed a lot through the years (singer and drummer were always the same thou). They've always been 1 guitar except in the Burn Out and Far From Nowhere era.
- It's strange there aren't too many videos of them playing live before the Far From Nowhere era. There's this Warped Tour 2003 video and some other random videos in Youtube (like 3 songs) but none of them from their old era.

- Keep checking this, I might add something more in the upcoming days/weeks, right now I'm blocked for extra info.

Additional info: Ok, so here's one of my all time favorite albums... EVER. Reffer was a band that started in Belo Horizonte (if I'm not wrong...) in mid 1995. They had another name before, they were called "Heffer" (do not confuse with the skatepunk band with the same name from United Kingdom) and they released 2 tapes with that name. One was just "Demo" and the other one was "Sweet Illusion". After that, they decided to change their name to Reffer and got signed to Urubuz Records and released their full length. After that they released a 4 way split with Dead Fish, Street Bulldogs and Noçao De Nada, titled "Faces Do Terceiro Mundo" in 2002. I think they did their last show in December of 2003. Now, one of them plays in Dead Fish. When I toured with a local band from Brazil they told me something really interesting. Almost NO ONE saw Reffer live. Why? No one cared about them while they existed, they thought they were just an average band. When they called it quits, no one cared neither then. It was a half year later that people started talking about this band and how good it was and they got REALLY BIG, REALLY REALLY BIG (it's actually the most respected and probably biggest skatepunk band Brazil had) but all their fame came after they broke up. A loooot of bands and people have covers of Reffer on Youtube. There's even an online album tribute to Reffer. I think people don't appreciate some things until they are gone.

Additional info: So this is their 2nd EP which was composed during the touring days for promoting "Shake Your Booty". I don't know what to add about this CD, so I'll copy/paste a message I got many years ago from Mike with a little story behind the sound of this EP, this is totally exclusive ;)
"I don't know if I mentioned it last time around, but Swollen actually sounded cool and original in the studio, but since it was the engineer's first CD project he didn't know how to transfer it to the format, and then the guy who mastered it clearly didn't care and just ran it through a standard "pop CD" setting without paying attention to what frequencies were already there and which ones needed enhancing or compressing, hence the thin horrible sound."
So credits to Mike for that fact.

Additional info: This is a big change for Venerea, they stopped doing the Bad Religion beat to start playing faster and having more crazy bass lines and better vocal melodies. There's actually 3 presses of this one too:

1st press: Bröol Records - Pink CD
2nd press: Brööl Records - Black CD. Again, Brööl decided to not search for the original CD. Remember the story about Yoghurt? Well, this is even better. Yoghurt's laziness was in 1995. This one was repressed in 1996 and to show more laziness in a one year lapse, they didn't even decided to scan and reprint the other booklet, they just PHOTOCOPIED IT. Yeah, color photocopy. So if you have this press and you see the booklet is smaller, doesn't fit correctly, paper has shitty quality, don't worry; you are holding the correct 2nd press.
3rd press: Gift Of Life Records. Gift Of Life decided to re-press Shake Your Booty but added the additional tracks from their 1996 EP "Swollen". Don't mistake with "Shake Your Swollen Booty", that's another CD. This one has the original "Shake Your Booty" cover, only that with the 6 bonus tracks.
They released a videoclip for the track "Shake Your Booty", you can check it here.
I don't know what else I can mention about this CD, except that it's REALLY GOOD.

Additional info: OK, so here's the first CD by Venerea. They were called "Venereal Disease" and they released two demo tapes: From Beer To Eternity in 1992 and The Second Cuming Of Venereal Disease in 1993. After shortening their name to just "Venerea", they entered the studios to record their first 8 track EP, Hullabaloo. This album sold pretty good for being the first CD, so it had 3 pressings. Each one of them had a different back artwork. If I'm not wrong, this is the correct order:
- 1st: Venerea standing in stairs leading down the river Ätran.
- 2nd: Venerea's backs against a brick wall.
- 3rd: Venerea's members separated pictures.

1st and 3rd aren't that hard to find if you search and wait to find them, but the 2nd one is pretty difficult. Which one I own? 2nd, obviously haha

They used to sell those EPs (3rd press) for really cheap, around 1 or 2 dollars in their Germany tour to get rid of them. Some days later they were all sold and started appearing on eBay for crazy prices. That's the story behind Hullabaloo.

Additional info: First full length of Skumdum on Kamel Records. This one is considered one of the 3 classics from the under swedish scene (Demoner, Sideburner and World Circus) by a lot of people. After this, they recorded a split CD with Böld which had songs still in the same vein of Demoner, and then they changed their style due to the drummer quitting the band. This has been re-released and remastered by Bells On Records some months ago with new artwork, you can find it in Interpunk as "Demons From The Past", which also included the self titled EP and some extra tracks.

This make them play a lot of shows and get well known inside the swedish scene so they released a full length the next year called "Demoner".

Additional info: Not too much to mention about this band. There was a band called Thru Being Cool back in 2000 who recorded 6 tracks (never released it physically, 90% sure) but people bothered them a lot saying that they stole their name from the Saves The Day second full length, so they decided to change it to "Dumbstruck". As Dumbstruck, they released Five Star Day; a song EP which included the 6 tracks recorded as Thru Being Cool plus 1 extra. I think there are two presses of this CD, the one in Heldwithin Records and another done by mp3.com. After this EP they recorded 2 more songs, "It's Not You, It's Me" and "Tell Her I'm Not Home". After this they did something that NO BAND has ever done before: sell out. They changed their name to Amity and released an EP, a full length and some more stuff that I don't have info in.

Additional info: This is the first full length from this trio from Chino, California. They got signed to Screaming Giant Records and got a 1 CD deal. This album helped them play a lot of shows and was distributed in local christian CD shops back in the days. In 2001 they recorded their second full length (Where's The Moon) but they broke up so they never released it physically. They decided to upload the album in 128 kbps shitty quality and the design of the CD so people could print it and make their own CD. Of the info I have, I think they were never featured in any comps, but I could be wrong.
In the lyrics section of the artwork, they specify from which part of the bible each song's lyrics has been extracted. Woah.

Additional info: I'll try to make a decent resume on this one. When Kurt Urban Karlsson disbanded in 1993-1994 after releasing 2 tapes and a 7'', 3 of the four members decided to make a new band and sing in english. They changed the band's name to Adhesive and recorded a 10 song demo tape titled "Thrust & Burn", releasing it independently in 1994. This tape was limited to 100 copies and some people say that the band sent one copy to Fat Mike trying to get signed to Fat Wreck Chords and he replied they were the second best band from Sweden after Randy, he really liked them, but since in those times Fat Wreck was still small, they couldn't put a release by them. So, if you are looking desperately for this demo tape, try bugging Fat Mike for his copy, because I won't get rid of mine. OK, that was the story before Yoghurt, so here's the actual story. A (shitty and hated by most of the bands on it) label called Brööl Records offered Adhesive to put out a relase in 1995. Adhesive entered the studios and recorded 6 tracks, which were converted in the Yoghurt EP. The label actually released 500 copies (this 1st press is the one with the green-ish yellow-is CD) and since they sold out quickly they made a 2nd press of it; again, 500 copies only (white CD). So, since this post is about Yoghurt, I'll bring some facts about this 2nd press. Brööl Records was famous for being a really lazy label (same as Lost & Found from Germany I believe). Since they were too lazy to find the CD-R with the artwork to reprint it, they decided to just scan and re-print all the artwork, so the quality was obviously worse. If you have both presses and you look carefully to any part of the printed paper (cover, inside, back) you'll see the quality difference; it has "less alive" colors and it's a little more blurred. Another fact is that when Adhesive started touring to promote this EP, a lot of people called their name wrong, something like "Ah-deh-seev" so they decided to put the correct pronounciation in the stamp of the CD. After the success of this CD, Ampersand Records decided to sign them for a full length contract, which became Sideburner in 1996, but that's another story...

Additional info: Not too much info on this one neither. Skirtbox started in 1998-1999 and they recorded this 5 track EP. It had a bad distribution but was sold really well in local shows. I think they released a really small ammount of copies, approx. 400 or 500. Funny fact: they even did a tour to South Africa to promote this EP and since there weren't too many skatepunk bands in SA, most of the pop punk/punk rock bands started composing fast songs in order to fit in the show. After this, they released their full length in 2002, which would be their last skatepunk CD.

Additional info: So this is the first release by One Inch Punch. One Inch Punch was a band from Melbourne, Australia that lasted approx. 2 years with that name: they were called Downfall before; changed their name to OIP and released one full length and one EP, then they changed their name to Mid Youth Crisis. Some people have the info of this album as being released in 1996. True story behind it: they recorded and released this in early 1995 if I'm not wrong. The thing is this album had a looot of success in the under aussie scene and the 750 copies they made run out of print really quick, so they decided to re-release it in 1996 but remastered. I think they made a lot of this remastered copies so if you like it, I think you can find them at some used australian shops, eBay or similar pages.

Additional info: Definitely Melbourne's most-pride-to-have band. This is one of those bands you can consider to have a unique sound, they mix a lot of metal guitars with skatepunk beats but REALLY dark and strange melodies and chord progressions. This was released after some pre-production demos which I've heard they were banned (?) for some reason. I don't have too much info on this band, but I know their guitarrist went to play on Bodyjar (he still does, and he doesn't have any CDs left of 180 Discord by the way). Enjoy!

Additional info: So here's one of the most classic bands from Europe. After one demo tape and two EPs, they released this first full length, which I could probably consider one of my top 5 albums ever. Ignition Records decided to release it and due to its high sales and public's acceptance, Epitaph Europe decided to sign them. They released a single from this album called "The African Song" which, if you own it, you can consider yourself millionaire (just put it on eBay and you'll see). It's one of those albums that carry totally the 90's essence, a totally must have. Two years after this release, they did One For The Money in 1998... which I'll explain in another post.

After having a big local success in the italian scene, they released a second demo in 1997, which is the one you're going to get from here. These two demos helped them a lot and they got signed to Everybody Loves Music Records to release their famous "Fast And Comfortable".

Additional info: Fonzie? The rock/pop punk band from Lisboa? On a skatepunk blog? Yeah, they used to play skatepunk too. The recording quality is really average but the music is really good, you cn see they weren't that great musicians but the energy and the compositions are for any 90's skatepunk fan. Additional info: This is what I call a FUCK!NG S!CK album. I'm too lazy right now to write a description so I'll copy/paste a short bio a friend of mine did about them a couple of years ago so you can get the idea:

This band was formed in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada under the name "Noah Fence" in the early 90's (as early as 1991 or 1992 I believe). They released two demo tapes ("We Like The Geebee" in 1993 and "Turfed" in 1994). They then changed their name to avoid similarities to NOFX, who at the time were becoming really popular. After having renamed themselves "Five Knuckle Chuckle", they released their debut full length "Charliee Horse" on Raw Energy Records in 1995. This is their second Raw Energy full length release.

I consider this album one of those CDs who has crazy bass lines all over the place, so if you like Cigar/88FL/Uppercut/Oversight's bass lines, this album is for you. Totally 90's.

I forgot, before this full length they released a 7'' titled "I Can Pee", which I also want to upload soon, I just don't have the info on that 7''. Additional info: Happy Meals were an AMAZING band from Seu d'Urgell, Spain. This is their demo tape released in 1996, the only release before their debut album "Toaster", in 1999, getting the opportunity to tour with Undeclinable Ambuscade in Europe. After this, they released a split with another amazing local band, Abraxas. I remember reading in an interview a long time ago that they said "we are tired of playing the same songs and we are also tired of doing those songs similar to Bad Religion" and then suddenly changed their sound totally. The rest of the history isn't really important: they became an indie pop band and released their sophomore album named "Co-Pilot" in 2003 which is also really good but totally different.

Additional info: First of all, sorry for the shitty "Similar to", but it's really hard to define what Hatrick sounds alike in this EP. I guess most of the people know them because of the rare and searched CD "The Place You Call Home". They were a band that started out in Jacksonville's scene around 1996 and got signed to Take Over Records for releasing their first full length (The Place You Call Home - 1999). They played with tons of bands, such as Yellowcard (before YC moved to California), Stalemate, Crotch Rockets, NUFAN, Craig's Brother, etc. To make the long story short, they recorded a 5 song EP called "Don't Worry About It" in 2002 and they kinda broke up. Then, they re-united in 2004/2005 and recorded a 3 song sampler; this is that sampler. It's way slower than their older stuff but still worth to get it if you love Hatrick. For some strange reason and bringing the gay inside of me, the vocal melodies in the first track of this sampler remind me a lot of "My Favorite Things" from the "The Sound Of Music" soundtrack... pretty catchy haha. It's pretty hard to find in mp3 and this was ripped from the original one, so enjoy this one too. I think some members formed Whaleface later, you can find their albums at my good friend Yan Timmons' blog.

Additional info: Mourningstar was a punk band from Atlanta, Georgia who played between 2002 and 2008 if I'm not wrong. They released 1 Ep (Self Titled, 2002) and two full lengths; Distrato (2004) and Antioch (2006). There's no other way to describe them than "a slower and heavier version of Strung Out". This isn't really skatepunk, even thou it has like 2 fast parts in the 6 songs, but it's REALLY GOOD. Jason from Strung Out liked them a lot too and did some artwork and designs for them. I think during this EP they were called "Mourning Star" and later they changed their name to "Mourningstar". If someone knows I'm wrong in this point (which I'm not 100% sure), give me a shout in the CBOX. If you are a fan of Strung Out, there are two options: you'll LOOOOVE them or you'll get disappointed because they ripped off your favorite band. I stay with the first one.

Additional info: To be honest, I don't have too much info on Illness. They were around Quebec in the late 90's and they had two releases: a demo tape called "Be Cool It's Only A Demo" and their only CD, "True Values" (which contains the re-recorded versions of "Power Of Knowledge" and "Salt-Lake Sour Taste") . As a personal note, I find this CD to be a masterpiece; definitely from my top 5 full lengths from Quebec ever released.

Additional info: Scallywagon was a band from Cincinnati, Ohio who played between 1996 and 2005. They had a lot of releases, being official Hopscotch (1997), All We Can Afford Is A Smile (1998), Putting Two And Two Together (2002) and Journey Fueled By Ambition (2004), but they also had like 3 or 4 demos around those years, in between albums. This is actually their last release before they broke up; an INCREDIBLE 4 song EP. In this one they slow down a lot but the guitar work and vocal melodies are amazing. I put S.O. and S.S. as "Similar to" because, even if the songs aren't fast (maybe a couple of parts in 1 or 2 songs), you can see a clearly influence of Strung Out's guitar work and Satanic Surfers' (Unconsciously Confined era) in their vocal melodies. This CD was available at SmartPunk until some months ago, but it's now out of print (that's why I'm uploading it). If I'm not wrong, they played in a couple of Warped Tour's dates too. After they broke up, the drummer started the band "Better Luck Next Year", which has a lot of influences of Rufio, The Starting Line, Fall Out Boy, Slick Shoes; mixing fast beats with catchy pop punk melodies. It's a really good CD, you can preview a track of it at interpunk.com. (Don't mistake "Better Luck Next Year" with the pop-punk band called "Better Luck Next Time"!). If more info of Scallywagon comes to my mind, I'll add it later. Enjoy it!

They had 4 releases, 2 tapes (which I'd kill to own them) called "Strange Girl" (this is their demo tape, if anyone owns this or have the MP3s, please contact me!), another tape (which is almost impossible to find) that was a 3-way split with Trendy Five and Modern Conflict (another gem I'd donate a lung for) and their 2 CDs: Hidden From Reality (1997) & Don't Touch Anymore (1999), this last one being released in a CD-R. They had the opportunity to play shows with big local bands such as Friendly Dorx, Oversight, Blind Alley, Illness, Senseless, etc.

Additional info: This band needs no introduction if you live(d) in Quebec and are into the 90's skatepunk scene. X-Large released an EP in 1997 titled "Living Large" and their only full length in 2001, called "Running Out Of Time" on Moebius Records. They had a lot of success in the Quebec area and could play shows with most of the Fat/Epitaph bands that toured there during those years. They also had a videoclip in rotation in local TV channels. This is one of the classic EPs released in Quebec during the late 90's, so enjoy it!

Additional info: Ok, let's start with the MOST IMPORTANT info on this album. NO ONE HAS IT... at least it's not in any blog. All blogs have incorrect info on this one, they mention they are from different countries, they have this album incomplete (never met anyone who has the track "Summer Snow" from this album), never seen it in more than 128 kbps, etc. This is the real rip from the original master CD, which was never officially released by the band. Skatepunk/Pop Punk band from Oxnard, California who were called "Can't Relate" (who only released a self titled EP) in the late 90's. They changed their name to Greenroom and started playing shows with Rufio, Slick Shoes, Craig's Brother, early Yellowcard, Broken Cedars, Dumbstruck, etc, when this new wave of "fast pop punk" bands started in California, near Oxnard, Chico and Rancho Cucamonga. They recorded 11 tracks and "released" them in their CD "Starting Over" in 2001. This CD was never officially released, they just burned the songs in CD-Rs and give them away in some local shows. In those times, there was a famous page called mp3.com which was like PureVolume or MySpace now. They started uploading unsorted songs and they uploaded a total of 10 songs, which later became the "mp3 version" of what all people have. This is the real rip, with 11 tracks, including the searched song "Summer Snow", which was an interlude in this album. I remember in those days they had a guestbook and they started fighting a lot between members in the same board. They got into problems and they disbanded, with some members forming a new band called "Saving Sebastian", which I remember was a little more poppy. After that, all members took their own ways and started making new bands, ranging from pop punk to rock.

Additional info: After Heffa Klump released some tapes and 7'' on "Hit It! Records", they disbanded and formed "Randy" in Hortlax, Sweden back in 1992. They were inmediately signed to Dolores Records and this was their first release there. Randy's skatepunk era ranges from 1993 to 1996, were they recorded 2 EPs (No Carrots... and Ska EP), 2 full lengths (There's No Way We're Gonna Fit In & The Rest Is Silence), a split with Refused and 2 singles (Education For Unemployment & At Any Cost). Both full lengths were re-released later by Burning Heart Records and found another release each one in Japan and Australia. The two singles were released in 7'' too and the two EPs were released into one CD in Japan as "Ska EP", which included as bonus tracks all the tracks from No Carrots. After "The Rest Is Silence", they changed their style (due to changing their bass player) to a more "punk rock" sound and then to a "shitty" sound. Well, if you are a big fan of The Ramones and Misfits, check them too. Sorry fans from their latest era.

Additional info: U.SeeD was formed in Victoriaville, Quebec, back in the latest months of 1993. They released a demo tape called Kick Up Kung Fu 262 and gained success inside the quebecois punk scene. During the next years, they mainly played shows with most of the old Quebec bands; Roach (later changed their name to Reset), Sonofabeat, Foodstuff's (later changed their name to Oversight), X-Large, Soled Out, Thirdfall, Quest Kon Fuse, 2B, etc.
They released their first full length in 1997 in a totally DIY way. It was called "Seen From That Angle". They rapidly gained a fanbase in Quebec and started playing a lot of shows and local festivals. After many years of playing, they went on a hiatus until they released "The Black Ink" in 2006, thanks to Freedumb Recordz.
